Michael Moore doesn’t hide his political leanings. The documentary film maker polarizes audiences with the films he produces, films that frequently cover topics like politics and gun control.

And tonight, in New York, he is releasing a film about Donald Trump. The film, made in almost total secrecy, is being billed as an October surprise. In an election season marked by almost daily surprises, this one is promised to be a big one.

A select audience will be able to see the film tonight in New York. The video will be released for everyone tomorrow–though details on how that release will happen are still to be released.

In fact, there are few details known about the release. What we know so far is that it is a full-length feature film. As it is coming from Moore, it is expected to be a documentary. That, at least in theory, suggests it will be rooted in fact–though many would claim that the spin Moore puts on subjects makes his documentaries more subjective.

The 73-minute surprise is called Michael Moore in Trumpland. The film is “an iteration of Moore’s one-man play, which he had hoped to perform at a central Ohio theater.” Many reported that the play was too controversial. Still the new film’s synopsis reads: “See the film Ohio Republicans tried to shut down. Oscar-winner Michael Moore dives right into hostile territory with his daring and hilarious one-man show, deep in the heart of Trumpland in the weeks before the 2016 election.”

New Yorkers will be able to watch the film tonight at the IFC Center , free of charge. This is Moore’s second release this year. Moore released released Where to Invade Next, last in February.

Will this be fuel the Clinton campaign needs to stoke their own raging fire, or will Michael Moore in Trumpland be Moore preaching to his own choir?
