Donald Trump, despite his campaign manager’s desire that he stick to the script that is scrolling on the teleprompter, is going to say what he feels. And fans of the erratic, spontaneous Trump have more to cheer today.
Trump has again departed fro the script. The message today is that Hillary Clinton, when she was running against Barrack Obama for the democratic nomination, began the “birther movement.”

The birther movement is, of course, the controversy surrounding where Barrack Obama was born. As presidents of The United States have to be born inside the borders of the country, some–who most label as conspiracy theorists–hoped to find evidence that Obama had been born in Africa.
This wasn’t helped by the slow response of the Obama campaign. They were hesitant to release copies of documentation (like birth certificates) that would have put the matter to rest. For them, the whole assertion deserved no response.
Trump himself had made demands to see proof of Obama’s birth records. And he actively began seeking independent verification.
Earlier today, Trump’s surrogates announced that Trump had arrived at the conclusion that Obama was born in Hawaii, though Trump himself had not said the words himself. Now that has changed.
Not only has Trump acknowledged that Obama was born in the U.S., he’s blamed the whole conspiracy on Hillary Clinton.
“Hillary Clinton and her camping of 2008 started the birther controversy. I finished it,” Trump said in Washington, D.C. “President Barack Obama was born in the United States, period. Now we all want to get back to making America strong and great again.”
After the statement from Trump, Jason Miller, Senior Communications Advisor, released this statement.
“Hillary Clinton’s campaign first raised this issue to smear then-candidate Barack Obama in her very nasty, failed 2008 campaign for President. This type of vicious and conniving behavior is straight from the Clinton Playbook. As usual, however, Hillary Clinton was too weak to get an answer. Even the MSNBC show Morning Joe admits that it was Clinton’s henchmen who first raised this issue, not Donald J. Trump.”
“In 2011, Mr. Trump was finally able to bring this ugly incident to its conclusion by successfully compelling President Obama to release his birth certificate. Mr. Trump did a great service to the President and the country by bringing closure to the issue that Hillary Clinton and her team first raised. Inarguably, Donald J. Trump is a closer. Having successfully obtained President Obama’s birth certificate when others could not, Mr. Trump believes that President Obama was born in the United States.
“Mr. Trump is now totally focused on bringing jobs back to America, defeating radical Islamic terrorism, taking care of our veterans, introducing school choice opportunities and rebuilding and making our inner cities safe again.”
Trump’s comments can be seen at the tail end of this video of this speech.
