According to a CNN report:

The object was thrown at the motorcade in West Palm Beach on Friday afternoon. The juvenile confessed ” to throwing a 2X4″ and implicated four other students, according to the Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office.

Charges will be filed with Palm Beach County State Attorney’s Office, the sheriff’s office said.

The incident happened near Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort as the motorcade traveled from the airport.

And according to a press release by local authorities:

“While assisting the United States Secret Service with a motorcade movement for President Donald Trump it was reported that a vehicle in the motorcade had been struck by what was believed to be a small hard object.”

“The incident was reported to have taken place on Southern Boulevard between Parker Avenue and Lake Avenue.”

Images from a CNN report and an image released from local law enforcement seem to show two different objects, although they could have just been at different locations.

After a quick investigation it was revealed that an unlikely suspect was the culprit. While investigating, authorities say an unidentified middle school student confessed to throwing the object at the motorcade and also implicated four other students in the act.

Authorities say they do plan to file charges against the child who threw the object and the other four students could also end up facing charges. Due to the age of the suspects, no more specific information was provided.

Secret Service agents and local law enforcement used surveillance video from nearby businesses along the motorcade route as well as numerous witness statements to put together what happened.

President Trump was in Florida for his final campaign victory rally that took place this weekend.

No one was hurt in the incident, but one of the vehicles did suffer slight damage.
