A Louisiana resident was reviewing her security camera footage when she noticed a little boy sneaking into her garage almost every day, just to pet her dog for a few moments and dash away yet again.

Hollie Breaux Mallet could see the boy riding his bike past her house before stopping and running into her garage to play with her dog Duchess for a few moments before running back out and pedaling away.

Curious and touched by the boy’s affection for her dog, Mallet took to Facebook to see if anyone knew the boy – and quickly got an answer.

“Attn Neighbors! Anyone know who this sweet little boy is? Every now and then when he rides his bike he will quickly come and on my dog or play fetch real quick, but always leaves quick like he doesn’t know if he should be here.” she wrote.

“I’d like to tell him he’s welcome to stay and play, she loves the attention!”

Just hours later, Mallet saw a comment on the video from the little boy’s mother, Ginger Clement Breaux,  saying it is her son Josh on the video.

“Thanks for the add Hollie! Josh talks about your dog all the time! Every time we pass he looks to see if she was sitting where he could see her. Just didn’t know he was doing things like this,” Breaux wrote.

“Last night when I first saw it, I was torn as a momma being happy and upset because he knows he shouldn’t be on someone’s property, but I wake up this morning more happy that he just absolutely adores dogs so much.”

Breaux added that Josh “turned ten shades of red when I told him to watch a video that I found!”

Mallet was thrilled to find out who the boy was and encouraged him to come over and play with Duchess anytime.

‘So glad to see that innocence and love was caught on camera instead of what they are normally used for. Can’t believe all the views this post has received, so glad to have captured this sweetness!’ She wrote.

Josh quickly became something of a social media celebrity, posting selfies with his new friend and his mom added one heartbreaking detail.

“I figured I would comment this on here since a lot of people are asking…

“Currently we do not have a dog. We had our dog Bella since Josh was 2, but she passed away last year. Things have been busy and Josh is active with after school activities so we have not jumped back into taking on the responsibility of starting all over again with a new pup quite yet. It will happen though!”
