Trump Threatens Investigation of Saturday Night Live for Being Unpaid Ad for Dems [VIDEO]

It would seem President Trump is constantly at war with the media, especially with NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” as he feels he is unfairly portrayed as a joke on their show each week. Trump has taken issue with this so much so that he has threatened to put the show under a federal investigation as he feels the program is pro-democrat and anti-Republican.

“It’s truly incredible that shows like Saturday Night Live, not funny/no talent, can spend all of their time knocking the same person (me), over & over, without so much of a mention of ‘the other side.’ Like an advertisement without consequences. Same with Late Night Shows,” he wrote on Twitter early Sunday morning.

In a follow-up tweet, Trump wrote: “Should Federal Election Commission and/or FCC look into this? There must be Collusion with the Democrats and, of course, Russia! Such one sided media coverage, most of it Fake News. Hard to believe I won and am winning. Approval Rating 52%, 93% with Republicans. Sorry! #MAGA”

Presidents Trump may feel he is being singled out, but SNL has done satirical sketches of presidents from both political parties for years. Actor Alec Baldwin, who has spoken publicly about his disapproval of Trump, has caught the ire of the president as he portrays Trump in most episodes.

Legally speaking, there is little, if anything, Trump can use for recourse as the satirical show is protected under the First Amendment. In fact, Trump’s arch nemesis Hillary Clinton was routinely made fun of during the 2016 election by actress Kate McKinnon.

This isn’t the first time Trump has taken issue with SNL. In February, Trump argued that the government should look into the “hit jobs” done by these late night shows.

“Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC!” Trump tweeted on February 17. “Question is, how do the Networks get away with these total Republican hit jobs without retribution? Likewise for many other shows? Very unfair and should be looked into. This is the real Collusion!”

Currently, there are only repeat airings of SNL until the show returns with new episodes on March 30th.
