Chalk up another win for the Second Amendment. Despite the dominant narrative of the liberal left, a citizen used a firearm in self-defense and didn’t fire a shot. The man captured three teenage burglars who were ransacking his parents’ house and held them at gunpoint until police arrived to make the arrest.

The video below shows Stephen Routh holding the three at gunpoint. Routh lives in Asheboro, North Carolina. The three teens had broken into his parents’ house, which no one currently lives in.

An alert neighbor noticed the unusual behavior on Sunday and called Routh. The neighbor told Routh that he’d seen strangers on the property.

As Routh pulled up, three teens were leaving the house. One was 14, another 15, and the last was 17. They had ransacked the house and were coming out the back door.

Routh was wating for them.

“I had the gun and they were coming out, and as soon as they saw the big gun pointed at them, their hands went up,” Routh told reporters.

He ordered them to the ground, and they complied. He was on the phone with the 911 dispatcher at the time.

“I had the gun and they were coming out, and as soon as they saw the big gun pointed at them, their hands went up,” Routh said.

“It’s a terrible mess,” Routh added. “All the drawers are askew, cabinet doors have been opened, stuff thrown out, papers everywhere.”

“They know this is not their home. They know they had no business in here.”

“They mentioned they just thought they would just go in there and look around.”

The two younger boys were handed off to their parents. The 17-year-old was arrested.

“The police said it best – they’re lucky I didn’t shoot them, cause I had every right to put a bullet in somebody,” Routh said.

“There have been too many instances lately of home invasions like this where they get caught. And some people have been shot and killed.”

“People are not taking this mess anymore.”
