The incident took place in Riverside, California, In the video, according to a report by the Daily Mail, Lim can be seen carrying his toddler son in his arms before abruptly throwing the child to the ground.
He later picks the child back up while he is arguing with his girlfriend.
While the pair argues in the middle of the street, Lim uses his son like a baseball bat, violently swinging him at his girlfriend. He then tosses the child to the ground for the second time.
Lim and his girlfriend take off, running in opposite directions, while the toddler lays on the ground. Then, the injured boy gets up and tries to follow his fleeing father.
The incident was revealed to police after a neighbor, Mike Ogden, heard an argument taking place outside. He checked his home’s surveillance camera and immediately contacted local authorities after viewing the footage.
When officers reported to Lim’s home, the suspect allegedly admitted to some of his actions, stating that he would likely go to jail for what had occurred.
The boy was treated for cuts, bruises, and bleeding in his ear at Loma Linda University Medical Center. He was released into his biological mother’s custody two days after receiving treatment.
Lim was taken into custody and booked into Robert Presley Detention Center on July 5. He was released the following day after posting $50,000 bail and is scheduled to make a court appearance on September 7.
