Sarah Sanders is in an interesting position. Most White House Press Secretaries butt heads with the media, but in the era of Trump they have themselves become targets. And now Sarah Sanders says she was kicked out of a restaurant because the manager isn’t happy with the policies or politics of Sanders’ boss.
This past Friday night Sanders was at a restaurant in Virginia, but the manager refused to serve her and the seven family members she was with.
“Her actions say far more about her than about me,” Sanders noted.
Last night I was told by the owner of Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left. Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so

Sanders seemed to take the incident in stride. She claims to have The Red Hen in Lexington, Virginia politely.
The intense criticism of Sanders has hit an even higher pitch in the last week as she has gone head-to-head with reporters who want clarification on President Trump’s views on immigration and child separations.
Jaike Foley-Schultz who works at the Red Hen posted about the encounter on Facebook. “I just served Sarah Huckabee Sanders for a total of 2 minutes before my owner kicked her out along with 7 of her other family members,” he wrote.

Brennan Gilmore, the director of nonprofit green group Clean Virginia, then tweeted “@PressSecretary got kicked out of The Red Hen restaurant in Lexington, Va tonight. Apparently the owner didn’t want to serve her and her party out of moral conviction.”
There was a note attached to his tweet that said “86-Sarah Huckabee Sanders.” 86, as the Daily Mail points out, “is restaurant industry slang meaning ‘throw out’.”
Sanders tweeted on Saturday “Last night I was told by the owner of The Red Hen in Lexington, VA to leave because I work for @POTUS and I politely left.”
“Her actions say far more about her than about me. I always do my best to treat people, including those I disagree with, respectfully and will continue to do so.”
“Bigotry,” Mike Huckabee wrote, “On the menu at The Red Hen Restaurant in Lexington VA. Or you can ask for the ‘Hate Plate’. And appetizers are ‘small plates for small minds” he tweeted on Saturday.”
The Red Hen has been encouraging of the democratic process in the past, if not involved in partisan politics directly. During the 2016 primaries, they invited voters in. “When you dine with us tonight wearing your ‘I Voted’ sticker, you’ll get a piece of our Devil’s Food cake on the house. Democracy is sweet. Savor every bite,” they posted to social media.
Three cheers for the RED HEN restaurant in Lexington, VA who refused service to Sarah Sanders and her family. I suggest Sarah bring her kids to Texas for excellent Mexican food and a look at kid's contemporaries being held in kiddy jails by mom's boss.

Now, though, they are seeing democracy in action. Their various channels have been bombarded with comments. Many are planning to #BoycottRedHen.
