The internet is abuzz over some hard-to-explain news. A professional video gamer, Douglas ‘FaZe Censor’ Martin, obsessed by his career playing “Call of Duty,” has broken up with his girlfriend so he can spend more time focusing on the game. That may not seem headline-worthy, but Yanet Garcia, dubbed the ‘World’s Sexiest Weather Girl’ isn’t your typical gamer’s girlfriend.

After he took some heat for his decision to end his relationship, Martin, 23, filmed a 10 minute explanation that he posted to YouTube.

“Yanet and I are no longer in a relationship with each other anymore,” Martin began redundantly.

He then went on to state the obvious. “Yanet is an awesome girl, she deserves the best. She’s beautiful, she’s smart, she was an awesome girlfriend.”

Given these intangibles, many are questioning his wisdom. “I know it sounds weird I’m saying all this…it’s just, I gotta do what feels right for me.”

Three years ago, what felt right was flying down to Mexico, specifically to meet Garcia. He did meet her, and the two began a relationship. She eventually moved back to New York to live with him for a year.

Garcia also has a career and moved back to Mexico City to focus on her acting and modeling.

“I supported her decision,” Martin said. “She wanted to be a supermodel actress – chase your dreams, life’s too short.”

“I’m playing Call of Duty full-time now and she wanted to take her job opportunity. I didn’t think it was going to be that difficult.”

“Back then it was a lot easier for me to go out and see her,” he said. “But now I have obligations.”

“I’m on a contract. It’s not like I don’t want to do this, this is the career that I want.”

“I want to win a ring, I want to win a world championship, what I want in my life at this very moment is to complete in Call of Duty because I love it so much.”

“I’m going to do whatever it takes to be a champion.”

“There’s only 24 hours in a day and I just didn’t have enough time to do what I needed to do,” he said.

Garcia, having lost in love to “Call of Duty,” will likely find someone new.

“Nunca escuches el consejo de una persona que no ha hecho nada bueno con su vida,” she tweeted. “Never listen to the advice of a person who has not done anything good with his life.”
