While supporters of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump lauded their respective candidates as the winner of last night’s debate, the consensus of the internet and many independent voters was that the debate was, overall, something of a train wreck. However, one man emerged as victorious from the fray – Ken Bone.
Bone was one of the chosen audience members who was allowed to ask a question of the candidates. He actually asked a fairly informed question on the future of our nation’s energy policies. His question:
“What steps will your energy policy take to meet our energy needs while at the same time remaining environmentally friendly and minimizing job loss for fossil power plant workers?”
Good question, right, well that’s not what endeared him to the American people. It was a combination of his demeanor, bright red sweater, and of course that mustache.
The internet instantly fell in love:
"Yesterday I had 7 Twitter followers and 2 of them were my grandma… because she forgot her password and had to do it over.” #KenBone pic.twitter.com/0mUpS0kgvR

Based on his debate performance, #KenBone is polling at 4-5% this morning and ahead of Johnson and Stein in a 5-way race.

However, Bone didn’t stop with his well received debate debut, but also continued to dominate the post debate spin cycle and let us know the story behind that red sweater.
Turns out, he actually split the pants of his nice olive suit right before the debate and went with “Plan B” which was the red sweater.
Don’t worry, people are already raising money to help Ken get a new one:
