A video that was filmed on Saturday at approximately 10:00 am local time, and was subsequently posted on Instagram, sparked outrage and even led to a police investigation. Marcella Zoia, 19, filmed herself throwing two chairs off of a 45th-floor balcony that was near a busy downtown street, causing them to plummet toward the roadway.

The incident took place at an Airbnb rental apartment in Toronto, according to a report by the Daily Mail. A photo from the Airbnb rental listing shows two chairs sitting on a balcony, and they are believed to be the chairs that Zoia hurled over the railing.
Airbnb states that Zoia was not renting the condo personally. However, Airbnb did suspend the account of the person who did secure the rental.
“We are outraged by the blatant disregard for community safety on display in the video,” said the company in a statement. “We will be suspending any guest’s accounts that appear to be connected to this incident.”
Both of the chairs that were throw off the balcony landed close to the front entrance of a condo building. No one was injured.
After police learned of the incident, they received tips for the public that identified Zoia as a suspect. Law enforcement request that she turn herself in.
Zoia, who is considered an influencer on Instagram, had 4,000 followers on her account, which has since been deleted.
On Wednesday, Zoia turned herself in to local authorities. She made a brief court appearance and was then released on $2,000 bail. Zoia was also ordered to live with her mother.
Additionally, Zoia is not allowed to have contact with any of the four individuals who were with her at the time of the incident.
“She is embarrassed by what happened,” said Greg Leslie, Zoia’s lawyer. “She wished it never happened. Of course, she would never wish anyone would be hurt.”
Leslie claims Zoia was a victim of peer pressure and that Zoia understands why the public was outraged over the video.
