Tim Allen and Nancy Travis made legions of fans happy when Fox announced the pair would be back in their roles as Mike and Vanessa Baxter on the show Last Man Standing. Now Fox has released a new teaser for the season that mocks ABC’s decision to cancel the show, despite its consistently high ratings and loyal fan base.

“Last Man Standing ended too soon and the outcry from the fans has been deafening,” Gary Newman and Dana Walden, chairman and CEO of Fox Television Group said in a statement. “We’ve wanted to put the show back together since its final taping a year ago, and Tim never gave up hope either. Thanks to its millions of devoted viewers and the irrepressible Tim Allen, we haven’t seen the last of Last Man Standing.”

The teaser is very self aware, paying homage to the show’s new network home.

Last Man Standing is scheduled to return to television at its new home on Fox on September 28, 2018, according to a tweet by leading man Tim Allen.

Since the show has been off-air for quite some time, many wondered how many original cast members would be willing and able to return.

As of this moment, Allen is set to reprise his role as Mike Baxter and Nancy Travis will return as Mike’s wife Vanessa.

Chuck, the neighbor played by Jonathan Adams, will also be coming back to the show, along with Christoph Sanders as Kyle.

Kristen, Mike’s eldest daughter, will still be played by Amanda Fuller and Jordan Masterson is going to return as Kristen’s husband, Ryan.

Hector Elizondo, who filled to role of Mike’s longtime business partner, Ed, is also said to be confirmed, according to a report by Louder with Crowder.

The remaining cast members are still uncertain. Molly Ephraim and Kaitlyn Dever, who played Mike’s other two daughters, Mandy and Eve, are said to be in talks to reprise their roles, though nothing is confirmed yet.

Dever, according to IMDb, does have a new show that is listed in pre-production, and both Ephraim and Dever have been relatively busy since the original cancellation of ABC’s Last Man Standing, so there is potential that either or both may not return.

The only other series regular that isn’t confirmed to be in talks or have a deal in place is Flynn Morrison. He played Kristen’s son, Boyd.
