One 8-year-old comedienne has gone viral thanks to her “on the nose” impression of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Footage of Ava Martinez, the little girl doing the impersonation, was uploaded to Twitter by her step-father, Salvatore Schachter. In the clip, Martinez touches on some of Ocasio-Cortez’s favorite topics, and the result is hilarious.

Martinez, who hails from Rancho Santa Margarita, California, became a social media sensation after the video was posted on Twitter on Thursday. It has garnered more than a million views across various postings of the clip.

“Like, I want to talk about, like, climate change,” said Martinez in the video. “Because, like, there’s no doubt cow farts and making the climate change.”

“Like, in July, the climate was 96 degrees and in February the climate was 36 degrees,” she continues. “OMG, like that’s a huge change in the climate in only… four months!’

Many users expressed their appreciation of Martinez’s impression, including one who said, “Her timing and delivery were spot on. Pure gold.”

“You can close your eyes and sear you are listening to the actual person,” said another.

Schachter, according to a report by the Daily Mail, said he had previously noticed how much Martinez resembled Ocasio-Cortez, but he didn’t decide to create the video until other family members began calling her “Little AOC.”

“I thought it would gain attention because she’s adorable,” Schachter said while discussing the video, “but not like this.”

“She loves acting,” he added. “She’s just a natural performer.”

Donning dark lipstick and glasses, the resemblance to Ocasio-Cortez is striking.

Schachter did admit that Martinez wasn’t actually aware of Ocasio-Cortez before they began preparing for the video, but that didn’t hold her back.

“I also want to talk about socialism because socialism is so amazing,” said the eight-year-old in the clip. “Like, socialism is actually short for social media. I do social media, so I’m a socialist.”

“Three of the most successful countries in the world are socialists too: Venezuela, Facebook, and Twitter,” she continues.

“I have a lot of friends who moved to America from Facebook.”
