Chatom Ford, a dealership in Chatom, Alabama, is giving away a free bible, 12-gauge shotgun and an American flag with the purchase of any new or used vehicle, Breitbart reported. The promotion will be running until July 31st, according to the video the dealership published on Facebook.

Koby Palmer, the general manager of the dealership, said his sales team came up with the idea to promote the surrounding area’s values. “It’s a safe community. They’re very proud of their country and almost everybody here likes to hunt,” he said, insisting the Fourth of July inspired campaign is meant to be patriotic, not political.

One thing Palmer wanted to make abundantly clear is they’re not just handing guns out to anyone. “We don’t want anyone to get the wrong idea,” the 29-year-old told to Fox News. “It’s not like we’re just walking around and handing out guns.”

Once a customer buys a vehicle, they will be given a certificate, which must be taken to the certified firearm dealers the dealership teamed up with so they can run a background check. Once the background check clears, the individuals will be able to pick up the shotgun.

“This is just showing support for our local community,” he told USA Today. “Anyone that doesn’t 100% agree with what we’re portraying, we’re not trying to force our beliefs on anybody. We respect anybody that disagrees, no matter how vehemently they do.”

The social media post went viral with over 60,000 views with many applauding Palmer for showing his patriotism in a unique, fun way.

The post also states those who purchase a vehicle and don’t want the additional promotions can decline them.
