Whenever natural disaster strikes, and people are displaced, looters won’t be far behind. Wildfires across the west have forced people from their homes, and now the first images of looting suspects are popping up. At least eight have been arrested in the deadly Camp Fire, which has left at least 48 people dead.

The Butte County Sheriff’s Office is posting images of their suspects, along with some of the details of their arrests.

Shayne Tinnel Jr (above) and Tracey Sizer (below) were arrested Tuesday. The pair had stolen a motor home from one of the Camp Fire evacuees. “Both suspects have been charged with vehicle theft, possession of a stolen vehicle and looting,” Daily Mail reports.

That couple is just one of many who have been targeting the vehicles of those fleeing the fires. Many of the evacuees are leaving with their valuables, which makes them easy targets.

Teddy King, 27, (above) and John Brown, 38, (below), were found in an evacuated area near Paradise, California. They had a stolen laptop and drugs with them when they were found.

While the authorities are preoccupied, many are targeting the empty houses.

Jason Burns, 41, (above) and Michael Salisbury, 48, (below) were caught breaking and entering. The pair were hiding in a bedroom of an abandoned house. They had meth, and heroin. They also had stolen a handgun. The pair was spotted by an electrical worker who notified the police.

When the police arrested them, they searched the house where they were found. The pair had other guns, ammo, and multiple chainsaws stashed in the garage of the house. The pair are being held on $89,000 bail.

Two others have been arrested for impersonating US Forest Service officials. They’ve not been identified.

“Butte County Sheriff Kory L Honea announced there had already been 53 reports of looting in the area as of Saturday afternoon,” DM adds. “It is unclear what the number of reported incidents has risen to.”

Carey Hart, the man married to Pink, has gone viral for his efforts to stop the looting. He’s advocating a more direct approach.

“There have been sightings of looters breaking in to homes. Well, if you are a looter, think twice if you are heading back into malibu (sic). #DefendYourLand #2ndamendment,” he wrote.

Malibu is well south of the Camp Fire, but is just one of many areas that’s burning. The Woolsey fire has caused evacuations there, too, and many of the homes being burned belong to celebrities.
