A bystander recorded an incident involving a bagel shop customer who began ranting at other patrons about women rejecting him because he is short. The man started “screaming about the dating sites and how women hate him” after the female employee who was serving him looked up and smiled in his direction.

The incident took place at a bagel shop in Long Island on Wednesday, according to a report by the New York Post.

“Why is it OK for women to say, ‘Oh you’re 5 feet’ on dating sites — you should be dead. That’s OK?” said the man.

“Everywhere I go, I get the same f***ing smirk with the biting lip,” he yelled.

Patty, the bagel shops manager, said, “This is crazy, but the man was very upset he was short; he went off on the women about dating sites.”

The manager stated that the incident began after a female employee looked at the man and smiled while she was serving him.

“He just went totally nuts. He said, ‘why are you smiling at me?’” said Patty. “He started saying it’s because I’m short and nobody wants me.”

Diana Reyes, the 18-year-old customer who filmed the incident, said that she and three of her friends were waiting to order when the outburst occurred.

“My friend was like ‘She’s just trying to do her job, leave her alone,’” said Reyes.

But the man continued on his tirade.

“It was insane. I personally never have heard anyone say that but to be there in person, it’s insane to see that someone has that mind process,” Reyes stated. “God forbid anything happened.”

A male patron also told the man to “calm down,” which can be heard in the video.

“Shut your mouth. You are not God or my father or my boss,” the short-statured man replies. “Dude, do you want to step outside?”

After deciding he had had enough, a male patron took the man down, tackling him and pinning him to the floor.

“He is our hero,” said Patty, referring to the customer who took action against the man. “If he didn’t tackle him, it would’ve gone on and on.”
