Surveillance footage has emerged showing Denis O’Connor, an 83-year-old great-grandfather, fearlessly fighting three masked men who were attempting to rob an off-track betting parlor. One would-be robber was brandishing what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun while the other two carried hammers. The trio began threatening the manager and demanding money from the safe, but O’Connor didn’t stand idly by.

The incident took place at Bar One Racing in Glanmire, Cork County, Ireland, on Saturday, according to a report by Fox News.
The trio of masked men stormed into the off-track betting parlor and began threatening the establishment’s customers as well as the manager, Tim Murphy.
As the would-be robbers move through the building, O’Connor can be seen walking over to the counter and engaging with one of the suspect, wrestling with the man and ultimately chasing him back out the door.
While Murphy fought with the second suspect, O’Connor reached for a nearby bar stool and used it to chase the third robber away.
Once the second suspect stopped grappling with Murphy and began to flee, O’Connor took a moment to kick him on the rear as the man rushed for the door.
Speaking about the incident, O’Connor stated, “I didn’t really think about it. I just went for it.”
Murphy added that he was incredibly grateful for O’Connor’s help, stating, “I was just being threatened by the two fellas with the hammers. Denis tackled one of them, and I thought, ‘I will have to tackle this fella as well.’”
“I tried to grab the hammer,” Murphy continued. “It was a total blur. They totally backed down. I remember Denis just shouting, ‘Ye are cowards. Ye are total cowards.’”
“Denis is a total hero. When I saw him taking one of them on, he totally inspired me. He is very fit.”
