That cloud looks like a bug! That cloud looks like a…. Yes. A penis. There was an unusual cloud formation in the sky Thursday. The clear fall sky was cut by a purposeful penis-shaped sky-drawing that left many on the ground wondering about the origins of the wispy white phallus.Turns out it was the Navy.

Not all of the Navy, of course. The pilot who drew the penis in the air over Okanogan County, Washington hasn’t been named, but the incident has been claimed by Officials at Naval Air Station Whidbey Island.

Some complained to local Federal Aviation Administration officials, though they responded logically. The FAA is not “cannot police morality.”

“The Navy holds its aircrew to the highest standards and we find this absolutely unacceptable, of zero training value and we are holding the crew accountable,” Navy officials wrote in a statement.

The best part about the statement is the implication that perhaps drawing penises in the sky could have actually had some training value.

This is hardly the first time an over-grown man-child at the stick has used multi-million dollar aviation equipment to express his adolescent sense of humor. An RAF pilot painted this sky-picture not long ago.

Official apologies aside, the imagery certainly lightened the mood.

One observer captured a video of the drawing:
