Naomi Litton, an 84-year-old widow, was married to her husband, a Korean War Marine Veteran, for 62 years before his passing. One day, she discovered her American and Marine flags had been stolen from her front yard, an act that left her “devastated.” Learning of her story, two Marines decided to do something about it and bring her new flags.
As reported by Fox News, Litton, a resident of Barberton, Ohio, was startled to find that her flags had been stolen from her front yard.
“I think I went into shock,” said Litton. “My goodness, the flags are gone… I was devastated, and I think I shed a few tears. Of course, I was thinking about my husband.” Litton’s husband, Edward, was a former Marine.
After learning about the theft, Scott Cole and Arthur Kennedy, both former Marines themselves, came to Litton’s door with a gift: two new flags, one replacing her American flag and one replacing the stolen Marine Corps flag.
The pair even installed them for Litton, and she says she admires them every day.
“It doesn’t matter what color, creed, age, the Marine will be there,” Cole asserted.
Litton was moved to tears by the gesture. Carol Bailey, Litton’s daughter, said, “These guys took time out of their day to do that.” She went on to say, “I’m so proud. I was so proud of our dad all of our life.”
Speaking of the gesture, Bailey stated, “I can’t thank them enough. There’s no words to thank them.” She continued, “What wonderful men. Semper Fi, Marine, Semper Fi.”
