Funerals are often a somber experience as it is the last time family and friends get to say goodbye to their loved one. People try to make the best out of it by exchanging stories of the recently deceased. But one Irish man decided to forgo the tears and did something that put a smile on everyone attending his funeral.

On October 8, hundreds of people gathered to mourn the loss of Shay Bradley who passed away following a long bout with illness, the Daily Mail reported. The Irish Defence Force veteran was always seen as a funny guy, so it didn’t come as a surprise to those in attendance when Shay spoke beyond the grave.
Shay had people crying, but it was for the right reason — from laughter. As Shay was lowered into the ground, a pre-recorded voice can be heard yelling from the coffin. “Hello, hello. Let me out,” the recently deceased jokester said.
The audio continues with: “Where the f*** am I? Let me out, let me out. It’s f – ing dark in here. Is that the priest I can hear. This is Shay I’m in the box. No in f – ing front of you. I’m dead.”
Shay was always known as a singer in his life, so he carried that tradition on in death as well. “Hello again hello, hello I just called to say goodbye.”
The person taking the video pans around those in attendance showing everyone with a smile on their faces laughing hysterically.
The Irish Defense Forces Veterans News acknowledged Shay’s death. “It is with great sadness that I was informed of the passing of our Military Brother and Veteran Colleague Shay Bradley. On behalf of the members of the IDFVA I extend our sincerest condolences and prayers to Anne and family at this sad time. May Shay Rest in Peace.”
Shay’s daughter Andrea remembered her father for who he was — a humorous and loving person. “He would love to know how many people he made laugh!!! He was an amazing character.”
