Dwayne Johnson, better known as “The Rock,” has always been one celebrity who is quick to make an appearance for a good cause or simply to make someone’s day. Previously, he flew a 10-year-old boy who had saved his little brother’s life out for one of his premieres, and now he has made a high school girl’s year with a special surprise.

Last week, Katie Kelzenberg who is a senior at Stillwater High School asked Johnson to prom on Twitter. Asking celebrities to prom seems to be the new norm these days, and Kelzenberg probably didn’t think she’d ever hear back from Johnson.

Well, Johnson once again proved he isn’t your typical celebrity as he surprised the entire high school with a special announcement over the school’s intercom.

“Good morning to the Stillwater Area High School students, this, as you might have guessed, is Dwayne Johnson, also known as ‘The Rock’ …”

Faculty recorded the experience as it occurred, showing students with their jaws visibly open, in shock of who was visiting their school. The camera then panned towards Kelzenberg who was blushing.

“Katie, I’m sure you are soooooo embarrassed right now, but I just had to let you know how cool and awesome you are for inviting me to your prom,” he said.

Johnson who seems to be in almost every blockbuster movie regretfully informed the teen that he couldn’t attend prom because he was scheduled to shoot a movie in Hawaii.

But Johnson had a plan to make it up to her. “Because we are now best friends, and I have so much love for you because you’re so awesome, I have a special gift. I’ve rented out a theater tomorrow, the gift is this, grab all your favorite friends and closest family members and whoever you want to bring, because tomorrow I’m showing you a screening of my new movie, ‘Rampage’ … and all the popcorn and candy and soda you can drink, cause it’s all on me.”

Kelzenberg’s jaw dropped as Johnson revealed his surprise. Johnson seems to use social media often to reward his fans. This time he used it to let Kelzenberg know he thinks she’s awesome.

SURPRISE KATIE KELZENBERG! About a week ago, I come across a video on my Twitter feed, from a student at Stillwater Area High School (oldest high school in Minnesota) asking me if I would be her date to her prom. Unfortunately, I’ll be shooting during that time in Hawaii, BUT I was so impressed by this young lady’s charm and confidence to even ask me (ladies always get shy in front of me) that I had to do something special. I decided to rent out an entire theater (capacity 232 seats) in her town so Katie and her closest 232 friends and family can enjoy a special screening of RAMPAGE. And all the free popcorn, candy and soda high school kids can consume! You’re money’s no good Katie… everything is on Uncle DJ. 🤙🏾🍿 🍭🥤!! And I also taped a special morning message surprising Katie and her high school that will play across the school’s intercom system… literally…RIGHT NOW, Katie should be turning red hearing me surprise her in front of her entire school. I wish I was there in person Katie, to see your reaction to all this, but I’ll hear about for sure and most importantly – you and all your friends have fun at the theater and ENJOY RAMPAGE! Thanks for being an AWESOME FAN and I’m a lucky dude to have fans like you. Uncle DJ 🤟🏾❤️ Ps – the gorilla in Rampage is way smarter (and better looking) than I am, but don’t tell him that because he has a HUGE ego 🦍

This is surely one morning announcement that Kelzenberg and her school mates will never forget.
