PUCKER FACTOR: F-14 Tailhook Breaks During Landing, Pilots Eject [VIDEO]

Carrier landings are among the most difficult task a pilot can take on – catching one of just 4 wires in a 40 foot area on a moving platform.

It’s even harder when the tailhook snaps off when you catch the wire.

That’s what the pilot and RIO (Radar Intercept Officer) in this video found out the hard way.

Luckily, they were able to hit the afterburners and eject safely as you can see in this video:
