Candace Payne, also known as “Chewbacca Mom” is the world’s newest viral star, so she got invited to the Late, Late Show with James Corden and there were a few surprises waiting for her.
The video of Payne laughing uncontrollably at herself in the now iconic Chewbacca mask went instantly viral, racking up more than 100 million views in a matter of days.
Payne told Corden she was just excited the video is bringing people joy and that the video is a great example of how it can be the simple things in life that make people truly happy.
“I’m a stay-at-home mom. I only had a few minutes before I had to go get my kids from school. I wanted to prove to all my Facebook friends and family that that mask was mine,” Payne said.
“I knew the moment [my kids] saw it, they were going to take it from me. And I’m like, ‘I didn’t buy it for you, little kids.’ I love you, but this isn’t for you”
But then it was time for a modified version of Carpool Karaoke with Payne, Cordon, and… Star Wars: The Force Awakens director JJ Abrams.
But that wasn’t the only surprise waiting for Payne, a note from Peter Mayhew, who plays Chewie in all of the movies.
But nothing… NOTHING… could come close to this epic Chewbacca exchange with Harrison Ford on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
And, of course, here’s the original:
