The world’s fastest man seems to be too fast for the competition. Usain Bolt completed the 100-metre semifinal and just breezed past everyone with ease. During the race he gave a bold smile to his competitors; he knew the race was over before they even hit the finish line. Once the image was snapped, the Internet made him into a meme sensation.

They say lightning never strikes twice, but that is just what the Jamaican sprint legend did after emerging victorious in his grudge match against American, Justin Gatlin. Bolt won his third consecutive gold medal in the Rio Olympic games in the 100m final race on Sunday night, running the track in 9.81 seconds.
Midway through the race, it appeared that Bolt might actually lose. But Bolt picked up some speed and went into overdrive. The race was a epic sprint for the finish line, but in the end, Usain Bolt remains the fastest man alive. His latest victory earns him his 7th gold medal.

“It was brilliant,’ Bolt said after his victorious run. “I didn’t go so fast but I’m so happy I won. I told you guys I was going to do it.”
Bolt became the first athletes to ever win the 100m three times– and at three straight Olympics. He is now closing in on the ‘triple double’ with only two races to go. In order to accomplish that, Bolt must win a gold in the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay.

It would be the perfect final Olympics for the legend who has repeatedly said he will retire after Rio. “Somebody said I can become immortal,” Bolt said after the race on Sunday. “Two more medals to go and I can sign off. Immortal.” With Micheal Phelps reportedly retiring after Rio as well, these legendary athletes will finish on top at the end of their amazing careers.
