Ten Equations that Changed the World

025A1

E.T. Bell once famously said, “Obvious is the most dangerous word in mathematics”.

While some of these equations now seem obvious, at the time of their discovery, they were world-shattering.

Newton’s Universal Law of Gravity, the Pythagorean Theorum, and the most famous equation of them all – Einstein’s Theory of Relativity – are more commonly known, every equation here has changed the world and led to mind blowing advances.

Without the Second Law of Thermodynamics, there would be no internal combustion engines, power plants, etc. Without Schrodinger’s equation, we lose nuclear power, quantum computing, and microchips.

So, yah… they are kind of a big deal.
