Hillary Clinton is having to try very hard to plug the holes in her campaign, and this one looks like a big one. Check out who is sitting directly behind her at her Florida campaign rally. How will Clinton explain away this one? Stronger Together?

These images are from Monday evening.  The father Omar Mateen, the ISIS wannabe who shot up the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, is seated just a few feet away from Clinton.

Seddique Mateen cheered for Clinton and waved an American flag right through the tribute Clinton cobbled together for the victims of the terrorist attack–people this man’s son killed.

Seddique Mateen was spotted first by WPTV in Florida, who quickly interviewed him. Seddique Mateen told them he supports Clinton because she is “good for national security” and wants tough “gun control laws.”

So how did Mateen end up at the rally? Was there an invitation? Mateen says he was invited (which could explain his prominent placement behind Clinton, and on camera).  Clinton’s camp, though, denies the invitation. They said they weren’t aware he was there.

“It’s a Democratic Party,” Mateen said of his appearance at the rally, “so everybody can join.”

“The rally was a 3,000-person, open-door event for the public,” a campaign official reassured Fox News. “This individual wasn’t invited as a guest and the campaign was unaware of his attendance until after the event.”

This is what politicians refer to as plausible deniability.

“I know how many people, family members, loved ones, friends are still grieving,” Clinton said to those attending the rally. “We will be with you as you rebuild your lives … because we can’t ever let that kind of hatred and violence break the spirit, break the soul of any place in America.”

Seddique Mateen, meanwhile, is taking pictures and waving.

How would the secret service not pick up on this guy? Seddique Mateen has a checkered past. He has openly supported the Taliban, and even thought of himself as a key figure in the transitional government of Afghanistan.

After his son butchered all of those people, Mateen spoke out in vocal opposition of homosexuality. He’s been steadfast in his condemnation of his son’s actions, too.
