The 31-year-old was arrested on multiple charges including public drunkenness, obstruction, and disorderly conduct. According to the Savannah-Chatham Metro Police, the incident began when LaBeouf approached a bystander, and his request for a cigarette was denied.

As LaBeouf was being driven to the station, he went on a violent, racist rant, repeatedly calling the officer a “stupid bitch” and making threats against the officer’s life, stating, “If I had my gun, I’d blow your shit up.”

A report on the incident states LaBeouf also exhibited further odd behavior. According to the officer’s statement, while his “hand was placed on Mr. LaBeouf’s right shoulder in an attempt to maintain control of him, it was at this point in time that Mr. LaBeouf leaned over and kissed my hand.”

LaBeouf was later released. His bond was set at $3,500 for the obstruction charge. Currently, LaBeouf is still in the Savannah area as he is working on the film, “The Peanut Butter Falcon,” which is being shot in the city.
