After Meryl Streep delivered her anti-Trump speech during her Golden Globe lifetime achievement speech to her receptive Hollywood liberal friends, it sparked a whirlwind of attention. President-elect Donald Trump already addressed the matter in his social media platform of choice, Twitter, and now it seems that UFC’s Dana White had some choice words for the famed actress.

Streep made it a point to vilify Trump as someone who despises immigrants, warning that it could come with dangerous repercussions if he doesn’t stop.
“Hollywood is crawling with outsiders and foreigners,” Streep said. “If we kick them all out, you’ll have nothing to watch but football and mixed martial arts, which are not the arts.”
The subliminal dig at the UFC didn’t sit well with White, who is UFC’s President. He gave her some hard truths about him and the company he represents and he held no punches back.
White told TMZ Sports, “It’s not going to be everybody’s thing. And the last thing in the world I expect is an uppity, 80-year old lady to be in our demographic and love mixed martial arts.”
He continued by commenting that Streep probably knows little, if anything, about his fighters, and the work and dedication that goes into competing at their elite level. “Of course it’s an art. I mean, these fighters, the men and women, are so talented. They train their whole lives to become the best in the world,” White said. “And the people who get into the UFC are the elite of the elite.”
If Streep was “educated” she would know that the UFC does “tons of events in foreign countries” and their fighters span from various respected countries. The men and women who follow the UFC is numerous and many do consider the UFC and their fights as art.
He closed by stating: “To say something stupid like that is like saying she’s not a talented actress, which she is. She’s a very talented actress.”
