“South Park” is back for their 20th season, and the kick-off will feature a well-timed send up of Colin Kaepernick and the viral Nathem Anthem protests. If the teaser trailers are any indication, the first episode of Season 20 will be great. The super low-tech animation style has, once again, allowed the team to stay up to the minute with their biting social criticism.

Perhaps even more controversial will be the send-up planned for the Black Lives Matter movement. We’ll see how that goes over. One thing fans all agree on about the show is how no single group seems to escape South Park’s brutal treatment.
The Comedy Central show will air Wednesday night. What’s getting so much attention now is the 30 second commercial shown below that shows a rewritten national anthem. Here are the words to the new song:
Colin Kaepernick is great
Cops are pigs, cops are pigs
Wait, someone just took my stuff, I need to call the cops
Oh no, I just said cops are pigs
Who’s gonna help me get my stuff?
Why did I listen to Colin Kaepernick
He’s not even any good
Oh, I just got all my stuff back
Cops are pigs again, cops are pigs
Colin Kaepernick’s a good backup
The commercial debuted Monday night, and was timed to air with the start of the San Francisco 49ers’ Monday Night Football game. True to form, Kaepernick continued his protest of “The Star Spangled Banner.”
“I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color,” Kaepernick told NFL Media. “To me, this is bigger than football and it would be selfish on my part to look the other way.”
Despite his personification of the “country” as one capable of oppressing people, Kaepernick is still unable to articulate how he himself has been oppressed, and continues to protest without posing any kind of solutions for the abstract problems he accuses the country perpetrates.
