The United States Army has released the name of the Special Forces warrior killed in combat during a ferocious firefight with Taliban forces.
The battle occurred on Tuesday January 4th, with the Special Forces warriors being surrounded and massively outnumbered by enemy forces. The battle left one dead and two wounded.
Staff Sgt. Matthew McClintock gave his life that day in defense of his brothers and his country.
A Green Beret from 1st Battalion, 19th Special Forces group, the 30-year-old McClintock was described as “one of the best of the best” by Maj. Gen. Bret Daugherty, commander of the Washington National Guard.
He leaves behind his wife Alexandria and his recently born son, Declan Cade McClintock.
