It was one of 2014’s most read news stories. Two high school teachers were arrested for engaging in group sex with a 16 year old student.

Shelley Dufresne, 33, and Rachel Respess, 25, are alleged to have engaged in sexual intercourse with a 16 year old male student in 2014. The pair was arrested after the student bragged about the affair.

The pair have already dealt with charges in St Charles Parish where Dufresne took a controversial plea deal that allowed her to avoid prison time and did not require her to register as a sex offender. Dufresne’s father is a judge in the Parish.

Despite their good luck so far, the pair just got some bad news. A prosecutor in another parish has brought new charges against the pair. The Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s Office just announced they are charing Dufresne with two counts of carnal knowledge of a juvenile (aka statutory rape) and a much less severe charge of ‘failure to report the commission of certain felonies’ against Respess.

Respess has always claimed that Dufresne and the male student showed up at her home while she was drinking and that she never engaged with consensual sex with the student. Dufresne is also alleged to have had a second sexual encounter with the student.
