A 3-month-old puppy, identified as Chewy, was found abandoned in a bathroom in the Las Vegas airport, accompanied by a note left by the previous owner. The letter indicated the dog’s former owner had been in an abusive relationship and could not afford to bring the puppy onto her flight.
As reported by Fox 11, Chewy, a Chihuahua, was found in a McCarran Airport restroom with the note. Chewy’s prior owner stated she did not have the money required to bring Chewy on her flight and hoped someone else would care for him.
The note read, “My ex-boyfriend kicked my dog when we were fighting and he has a big knot on his head. He probably needs a vet.”
She went on to say, “I love Chewy sooo much – please love and take care of him.”
Chewy was eventually given to Connie and Millie’s Dog Rescue in Las Vegas. The group posted a photo of Chewy on Facebook along with a picture of the note.
The rescue group stated in the post, “Please share in hopes that his mom sees this, that she was brave to leave and that he will have a great life.”
Once the Facebook post went up, the group said there was “tremendous interest” in the dog. They are now compiling interest forms and hope to select a new forever home for Chewy.
The group even posted a follow-up, requesting interested applicants to consider other animals currently calling shelters and rescues home. The post, written in Chewy’s voice, said, “My pack is buried in paper… since there is just one of me my pack can’t accept any more Apple cations for me. It’s going to take weeks to dig through all those love requesters.”
It goes on to say, “Please, please for me go to the shelters and rescues and adopter one for me! They need a home too and squeaker toys and special stuffs.”
