If you’ve ever heard the phrase “add insult to injury,” you’ll probably agree that it applies in this case. During yesterday’s Bellator fight between Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos not only got his skull crushed (literally) by Michael “Venom” Page, but he got a bit of embarrassment as well.

During the fight, Page landed a brutal knee to the front of Santos’ skull which resulted in a nearly instananeous knock out.
While Santos was laying on the ground being attended to, Page grabbed items from outside of the ring from an assistant. It turned out to be a Pokemon trainer’s hat and a toy Poke Ball.
Page then rolled the ball across the ring at the knocked out Santos.
Of course, he then had to strike the famous Pokemon pose:
Santos had a less fun night. The following photos were later posted to social media showing Santos’ skull, clearly crushed from the devastating kneww.
The photos were posted by his ex wife and fellow fighter, Cris “Cyborg” Justino, along with the following quote:
“Fight fans, please say a prayer for me ex-husband Cyborg Santos. Many of you watched him fight on Spike TV this weekend when he suffered this injury, while fighting in London. Cyborg is still in the hospital in the UK, and they are not sure when he will be able to fly again. He has not had surgery yet and there is worry the brain can continue to swell causing more damage.”
Here is the video of the moment in question:
Page also did a post fight interview still wearing his Pokemon trainer’s hat.
