Mike Rowe, former “Dirty Jobs” host and Ford spokesman who appeared in several commercials recently, commented on the news of Ford Motor Company’s decision to abandon their plans to build a $1.6 billion in Mexico in order to keep jobs in America. He applauded their decision in a Facebook post that every American should read.

“I’d like to take a moment to congratulate Ford, its current employees, its future employees, the great state of Michigan, and of course, The United States of America.”

He added stating Ford’s decision “is a big, fat victory for anyone who wants to see America get back to the business of making things.”

In the post, Rowe was adamant the news of Ford’s decision to keep jobs in the US wasn’t a political statement and encouraged his ever growing fan base to “ignore” partisan people.

He wrote, “Do me a favor — ignore these people.” Adding, “They don’t know how to feel good about anything other than feeling bad. They don’t understand the value of justifiable optimism — or it’s importance.” Many suggested that the move was in response to President-elect Trump’s criticism of the auto manufacturer’s plan to move jobs to Mexico.

Rowe, who has long been an advocate for the American job market, insisted that Ford’s move should not be overshadowed by politics. But he did understand that many would only see it as a political move or to fulfill a political agenda.

“Honestly, I don’t care what your politics are, or your opinion of NAFTA, The UAW, The New F-150, rich people, poor people, The Global Economy, or The President-Elect — this is good news, and sensible people should celebrate it.”

“The company who invented mass production is once again betting on the future of America! What’s the worst part about that?” Rowe closed his post by questioning why other companies haven’t followed in Ford’s footsteps.

Keeping jobs in America has been one of Trump’s goals and main talking points in the days leading up to his presidency. The question must be asked, why are people bashing Trump for doing exactly what he said he would do for the American people?
