If you ever get into an accident, it’s recommended that you don’t try to flee the scene, especially if there are a gaggle of angry people chasing after you in your now demolished vehicle. One Infiniti QX70 driver seemed to miss the memo about proper accident etiquette after video shows absolute mayhem unfolding following a crash.

The video starts after the driver of the silver Infiniti apparently smashed into half a dozen cars in Miami, Florida, Sunday morning. The driver then tried to flee the scene by trying to drive through oncoming traffic and even driving on the sidewalk at one point — all this with his front bumper just barely hanging on.

The unidentified driver got more than he bargained for when he was confronted by angry citizens trying to stop the driver from escaping the scene.

According to the Miami Herald, as the mob surrounded the car, one of the onlookers decided to take matters into his own hands. He obtained a hammer from somewhere, and the footage shows the man making his way around the car smashing out several windows.

Other people in the video are seen punching the windows of the vehicle and trying to get the driver out of his two-ton vehicle.

Amidst the mayhem, one man is seen trying to open the driver side door only to have it break off in his hand. Towards the end of the video, cars are trying to box the hit-and-run vehicle in until law enforcement could arrive on the scene.

Unfortunately, the others drivers were unsuccessful in boxing the hit-and-run driver in, but according to Jalopnik, the driver was later captured and arrested by local police down the road from where the incident took place.

Miami police did not release the name of the suspect, nor did they say if any of the pedestrians involved in smashing the car will face charges. There were no injuries reported.
