It seems that shock comedian Kathy Griffin is issuing a rare apology and backtracking quite a bit after a photo shoot of her was released today.

The photos depicted Griffin beheading President Donald Trump and holding up a graphic, bloody Trump head in several photos. Many people on social media called for Griffin to face criminal charges for “threatening” the President.

Well, it seems that some of the public backlash got to Griffin and she issued an apology video on her Twitter account.

In the video Griffin said she just recently saw the negative reactions to the photos online, which included many people calling for criminal charges.

She said that she understands she crossed the line, will work with the photographer to unpublish the images, and apologized for the images.

Here is the video posted by Griffin:

ORIGINAL STORY: It’s no secret that boisterous, outspoken entertainers often garner a lot of attention for their political stances, but comedian Kathy Griffin may have crossed the line with her most recent attempt to slander President Trump. In a new self-proclaimed “art” project, Griffin is photographed holding a bloody head design to look like Donald Trump. This has understandably caused an uproar.

Griffin, who has been a public opposer of Trump and his administration, took the photo with the controversial photographer Tyler Shields. The image, which was obtained by TMZ, later showed a tweet from Shields that showed the two joking about the picture and proclaiming they would need to flee to Mexico or face imprisonment.

Shortly after the gossip site released the image, many Americans expressed their disgust of the incident. One commentator, in particular, hoped Griffin would be shunned from America.

Unfortunately, this is not the first time that Trump has been depicted as beheaded. In August of last year, fellow comedian George Lopez published a cartoon image of drug lord El Chapo beheading the President of The United States.

Griffin has no remorse for her actions as she released a statement after the backlash began. “I caption this ‘there was blood coming out of his eyes, blood coming out of his…wherever,'” she wrote on Twitter. “OBVIOUSLY, I do not condone ANY violence by my fans or others to anyone, ever! I’m merely mocking the Mocker in Chief.”

Even those who don’t agree with the president found the image repulsive. Twitter user Renegade Cowboy wrote, “Not Trump fan at all,” he stated. tweeted. “But this is disgusting.”

Among those repulsed by the image was the daughter of Trump’s campaign opponent Chelsea Clinton. “This is vile and wrong,” she tweeted. “It is never funny to joke about killing a president.”

You know you cross a particular line when the daughter of the losing candidate condemns you for an inappropriate image of Trump. Wrong is wrong -no matter what party you identify with.
