Chelsea Handler Says Gun Enthusiasts’ “Hobby” is Getting People Killed

Outspoken liberal Chelsea Handler has managed to anger two large demographics of people in one fell swoop – Trump supporters and gun enthusiasts. Handler ripped gun owners and Trump in an interview with the Hollywood Reporter Wednesday night. Part of her lengthy interview blasted gun control in the country, which she believes is “totally unacceptable.”

Handler, an outspoken anti-gun advocate and anti-Trump proponent, tried to get her muddled, misguided point across by trying to intertwine the two. The 42-year-old stated that Trump  loves the “gun lobby” and “doesn’t give a sh*t about people.”

She said in part: “Obviously, [the state of] gun control in this country is totally unacceptable, and the gun lobby is so strong and so powerful that anytime a celebrity can bring attention to this cause — among many other [causes] — you know it’s an easy thing for anyone to do.”

She then argues that we are “behind the times in terms of gun control in the country.” There is little to no information backing up such a claim. Handler claimed that gun enthusiasm is nothing more than a mere “hobby.”

“Nobody is trying to take away your guns. If you want to go shoot, you know, whatever, in the woods, that’s fine, but it’s a hobby,” she told the Hollywood Reporter. “If your hobby is [affecting] innocent people being killed all the time, children included, don’t you think you should reconsider the lack of restrictions placed on your hobby?”

Handler shared her liberal ideology on guns, telling the Hollywood Reporter that America needs stricter gun laws and “heightened… restrictions on buying guns.” She also stated that background checks are needed to ensure the safety of others, a sentiment that has already been disproven time and time again.

We’re seeing in the news now, more than ever, terror attacks, disgruntled employees returning to the workplace with guns and intruders forcing their way into innocent people’s homes. Taking guns away from the American populace is the last thing we need to do. As horrible as it is, our guns may help keep us from enduring the kind of attacks that London had to face last week.
