A scary situation presented itself at a trump rally in Nevada this evening. The Secret Service rushed the stage, shielded the Republican candidate for President and aggressively took down a member of the crowd.

The incident occurred just as Trump had begun to show signs of life in national and swing state polls.

According to a Yahoo News/AFP:

The 70-year-old Republican tycoon reappeared several minutes later to cheers from his fans, declaring: “Nobody said it was going to be easy for us, I want to thank the Secret Service.”

Just before the fracas, Trump could be seen shielding his eyes from the lights in order to peer into the crowd.

There were signs of a struggle in the crowd as three agents led Trump away, shielding his body, but once a suspect was led away Trump resumed his stump speech.

The candidate appeared unrattled by the scuffle, and spoke with his usual self-confidence as his speech continued.

“I would like to thank the United States Secret Service and the law enforcement resources in Reno and the state of Nevada for their fast and professional response,” Trump said. “I also want to thank the many thousands of people present for their unwavering and unbelievable support. Nothing will stop us — we will make America great again!”

Social media exploded following the incident:

It is still unclear if a firearm was actually found on the person who was taken into custody. The incident apparently started when a member of the crowd yelled “gun,” but it is unknown if there actually was a firearm present.

Trump is scheduled to appear at a rally in Denver, CO later tonight and does not plan on canceling that appearance.
