An attack has taken place near an entrance to the UK Parliament building. The area is on lock down and there are several casualties. At least one person, believed to be the suspect, has been shot. Prime Minister Theresa May was said to be near the incident when it occurred.

According to a report from the Daily Mail:
Armed Police have opened fire and shot an intruder inside the grounds of the Houses of Parliament amid reports a car drove into pedestrians on Westminster Bridge.
An intruder with a knife managed to break into the grounds of Parliament and stabbed a police officer before he was shot, reports suggest.
More than 10 people are said to have been hit by a car on Westminster Bridge after a vehicle described as a ‘4×4’ reportedly drove into pedestrians and cyclists.
Three bodies were visible on the floor outside Parliament and the Palace was placed on an immediate lock down.
Fortunately, Prime Minister Theresa May was quickly rushed away from the scene and is said to be safe:
An ambulance, believed to be carrying the assailant just recently left the scene bound for an area hospital. The condition of the police officer who was stabbed and the pedestrians who were hit by a car is currently unknown.
London Police are currently treating the attack as a terror attack.
Law enforcement and intelligence agencies across the world are currently monitoring the situation in London. The NYPD specifically mentioned they are monitoring the situation. In the past, the NYPD has stepped up security in certain areas of the city following high profile attacks in Europe.
