The mastermind behind the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Khalid Sheik Mohammed, is the definition of pure evil. He is responsible for thousands of American deaths, and he deserves to stay in Guantanamo Bay for the remainder of his life.
According to author James E. Mitchell’s new memoir, Mohammed disclosed that President Bush’s fierce military response ruined a 2nd 9/11 style attack.
The Washington Post’s Marc A. Thiessen outlined the account from the book, “Enhanced Interrogation: Inside the Minds and Motives of the Islamic Terrorists Trying To Destroy America.” [emphasis added]:
“Then he looked at me and said, ‘How was I supposed to know that cowboy George Bush would announce he wanted us ‘dead or alive’ and then invade Afghanistan to hunt us down?’” Mitchell writes. “KSM explained that if the United States had treated 9/11 as a law enforcement matter, he would have had time to launch a second wave of attacks.” He was not able to do so because al-Qaeda was stunned “by the ferocity and swiftness of George W. Bush’s response.”
But KSM had to have the last word, stating in the end, he told Mitchell, “We will win because Americans don’t realize … we do not need to defeat you militarily; we only need to fight long enough for you to defeat yourself by quitting.”
Mohammed apparently claimed the swift military action by Bush left al-Qaeda stunned and unable to carry out secondary attacks as planned.
Bush was originally criticized by the left and the right, but in hindsight, it seemed to be the best decision for the American people and theoretically save thousands of American lives. Mohammed and his terrorist friends can attest to that.
Mohammed also gave a bold anti-America prediction “jihadi-minded brothers would immigrate to the United States” and take advantage of the country’s rights and laws until they were ready to attack. The terrorist mastermind seems to have a lot to say from inside his prison cell.
The memoir concluded with a last few words by the Guantanamo detainee: “He said the brothers would relentlessly continue their attacks and the American people would eventually become so tired, so frightened, and so weary of war that they would just want it to end,” Mitchell writes.
“Eventually, America will expose her neck for us to slaughter,” Mohammed said.
