The South Carolina mother has 4-month-old and 2-year-old which she raises herself with a minimum wage job. Within 12 hours, her post had gone viral with 134,000 shares and 43,000 comments commending the mother for putting her family first.

Knaack was shocked by the overwhelming support and never expected this to go “viral” and didn’t do it for that reason. “It’s pretty crazy,” she said. “I was just sharing a milestone with my friends and family,” she said.

Knaack was clever with her refund check; the same cannot be said about others. The younger generation especially considers the refund check another opportunity to blow every dime they have in their account. Adults are guilty of this as well.

The single mother of two said her and her family will be doing things with the money they will be saving without having to pay rent for the next year.

It would be nice to have a new trend of instead of blowing the funds on inanimate objects; to instead, be able to possibly save it or to use it to better the family.

Too many times you see others getting their children the new iPhone 7 or the newest pair of Jordan’s. It’s nice to see a mother who is not confined by the social standards of the world during tax season.
