CNN called Jonah Hill’s “new bod” the “biggest surprise of the summer.” For fans who came of age with the Super Bad era Hill, the older, more mountain man looking Hill is certainly a big change. Hill hit the streets this past weekend looking very different, and fans of the comedic actor immediately hit the web.

If you haven’t been paying attention to Hill lately, you may not recognize him. He’s dropped the look of the cliche fat-kid and replaced all of that weight with muscle.

“Jonah hill is weight loss goals.. bruuuh,” one fan mused.
And then he started working back, bring everything into a more harmonious balance.
“My motivation for weight loss is skinny Jonah Hill,” tweeted another Hill fan.
One thing is for certain. Hill seems to be in command of his physique. He’s been gaining weight and dropping weight at will, it seems, or for various different roles. In 2015, he reportedly 40 pounds for War Dogs.
Channing Tatum, who costarred with Hill in the 21 Jump Street remake, encouraged Hill to get in shape.
Hill spoke about the conversation on The Tonight Show recently. “I wanted to get in better shape, so I called Channing Tatum and said, ‘Hey, if I ate less and go to a trainer, will I get in better shape?'”
Tatum gave him a direct answer. “Yes, you dumb mother****er, of course you will.”
“It’s the simplest thing in the entire world,” Hill said dismissively.
Simple for him, obviously. The rest of us? We’re still working at it.
